Dr. Michael Hyek is the Senior Director, Service Lines Prevention and Wellness for OhioHealth and has been with OhioHealth for 15 years.  Dr. Hyek obtained Bachelor of Arts degrees in Exercise Science and Chemistry from Texas Lutheran University and a doctorate in Pharmacology from the University of Houston.  Dr. Hyek has extensive experience in start-ups and operations of hospital-based fitness centers including previous roles as General Manager at the McConnell Heart Health Center, Executive Director of The Wellness Center in Johnson City, TN and Executive Director of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Wellness Center in Erie, PA.  As part of his current role, he has operations oversight of the OhioHealth McConnell Heart Health Center and the OhioHealth Neuroscience Wellness Center. Other career highlights include teaching and research experience in academia, publications in peer-reviewed journals, owner of a personal training business and management of cardiac rehabilitation programs.  He has been married to his wife, Lori, for 18 years and has two daughters Avery (16) and Margo (11).
